We have come across a few opportunities to serve this up coming week and wanted to invite any of you who are willing and able to help to join in.
The Red Cross and Salvation Army have teamed up for preparing meals for both workers and people who have been personally affected by the floods. This means meal prep is for between 300 to 400 people. This responsibility has been handed over to the churches of Ottumwa. We are currently looking for meal prep and deliverers. There are two shifts available from 10:30am-3:00pm and 3:00pm-6:30pm. This need is from tomorrow (Saturday) potentially through Friday. The number of volunteers needed for each shift is 5-7 people.
Sand bagging will begin tomorrow at 8:00am in Ottumwa. The location is the green street parking lot located just off of Jefferson.
We are looking for volunteers to move food to higher elevation at the Ottumwa Community Outreach Center.
We also need a few volunteers to help move the sound equipment upstairs in the Bridge View Center.
Please leave a comment if you would like to be involved in any of the above.
