Exploring Favor February 5, 2009

Filed under: Random — martyschmidt @ 2:40 pm

I’m working on a series of post having to do with “favor.”

Here are some of the questions I am wrestling through:

Do we have a say in whether or not we have favor from God?

What is the opposite of favor?

If we do have a say in whether or not we have favor – how does that play out?

If we do have a say can we decide in which areas we have favor?

Is favor something experienced in the here and now or sometime in the future?

Why do some people have more favor then others?

Any thoughts?

    Yes
What is the opposite of favor?
    Unfavorable
If we do have a say in whether or not we have favor – how does that play out?
To maintain favor with God we must follow his will, teachings and guidance for our lives.
If we do have a say can we decide in which areas we have favor?
I think we can have more or less favor in some areas because of how closely we follow his will, teachings, and guidance.
Is favor something experienced in the here and now or sometime in the future?
    Both
Why do some people have more favor then others?
Those who experience more favor may be more closely following God’s will, teachings, and guidance for their lives.

A side note- favor may look differently than one might expect. Someone may be in God’s favor and yet experience hardship and very difficult times.

  2. Bryan Sissel Says:

Do we have a say in whether or not we have favor from God?
    yes
What is the opposite of favor?
not living in and following the wil of god
If we do have a say in whether or not we have favor – how does that play out?
regular prayer ,reading the bible, and searching for the will of god in our lives
If we do have a say can we decide in which areas we have favor?
there are certain areas that we hold back from god and do our way we can’t expect his favor in those areas of our lives
Is favor something experienced in the here and now or sometime in the future?
    both or either
Why do some people have more favor then others?
I think people who are in tune with gods calling on their lives will have gods favor in those areas , other than that I’m not sure we can really know when we or somone else has gods favor.
